Best Games Like World Of Warcraft (WoW)
World of Warcraft is one of Blizzard Entertainment’s most successful game. It’s also known to be one of the best MMORPGs available, if not the best. WoW also has a rich lore with plenty of things to do apart from just questing or doing dungeon runs. You can take up professions like blacksmithing, fishing, cooking, alchemy and a couple others.
Unfortunately for casuals, this game is not free to play. You have to pay a monthly subscription (even for WoW Classic) and not everyone can afford to do so.
With the recent boycott on Blizzard for political reasons, here are some alternatives. Do provide your own answer if it’s not inside here. Also, vote for your favorite MMORPGs that can be good alternatives to WoW.
Perhaps the best game to succeed WoW after all is the Classic version, before they apparently messed it up.
It could be nostalgia, but the Classic gameplay was what kept players hooked. Things were much harder and the grind was real, yet it brought people together.
Final Fantasy 14
One of the best MMORPGs at the moment is Final Fantasy XIV. This game also had a recent update called Shadowbringers.
FO 76 started out terribly but it apparently has become better now.
MapleStory 2 is a big jump from the side-scrolling MapleStory that players came to love. You’ll have to try it out to see if it fits your style.
Elder Scrolls Online
Elder Scrolls Online recently got a big update (Elsweyr) that brought some players back to the game. As an online version of the typical Elder Scrolls game, it may be what you’re looking for.
Developed by Webzen, MU Online used to be one of the popular games over a decade ago. These days, they have their own mobile game but the original is still much more fun to play with.
There may also be some good private servers (not certain if they’re still around).
